im trying to use fwlogwatch to see what iptables is doing but it doesnt seem to be logging anywhere
TheChubu 2017-01-28 11:45:30
jhutchins: "paths must precede expression exec"
TheChubu 2017-01-28 11:45:32
weird
RayzrShrp 2017-01-28 11:45:36
i would expect it to show up in the kern but it's blank
jhutchins 2017-01-28 11:45:59
RayzrShrp: You have to tell each rule to log.
jhutchins 2017-01-28 11:46:26
TheChubu: That's find's generic error message, it means "I don't understand the syntax".
RayzrShrp 2017-01-28 11:47:20
jhutchins: so i cant just tell them all to log?
jhutchins 2017-01-28 11:47:36
RayzrShrp: I think it has to be on each rule you want logged.
RayzrShrp 2017-01-28 11:47:43
grr
jhutchins 2017-01-28 11:48:12
RayzrShrp: There are rules that don't make sense to hvae log.
RayzrShrp 2017-01-28 11:48:41
i pretty much wanna see all the traffic getting denied at my iptables
RayzrShrp 2017-01-28 11:48:50
so i can see it working
jhutchins 2017-01-28 11:51:41
RayzrShrp: The masquerade howto at tldp.org has some good, easy to understand documentation, and a link to trintyOS which has a lot more. David Ranch I think?
gr3yg00se 2017-01-28 12:04:21
hi !!
jhutchins 2017-01-28 12:09:49
TheChubu: exec {} + to build a concatenated list of files and apply one command.
jhutchins 2017-01-28 12:10:13
TheChubu: I imagine if you dig through the manpage it will tell you how to format the output.
sasha__ 2017-01-28 12:17:20

pnorman 2017-01-28 12:20:25
I'm encountering a bug in a package which I happen to know is fixed upstream since a couple of years ago. Should I file a bug with reportbug?
somiaj 2017-01-28 12:21:14
pnorman: is this bug in jessie or stretch or sid? Have you checked to see if there is already a bugreport filed in the debian BTS?
pnorman 2017-01-28 12:21:44
somiaj: all of the above, and there's no bug
pnorman 2017-01-28 12:21:49
somiaj: all of the above, and there's no bug filed
somiaj 2017-01-28 12:22:15
then file a bug report, what package is it?
pnorman 2017-01-28 12:22:26
bash-completion
somiaj 2017-01-28 12:23:02
,v bash-completion
judd 2017-01-28 12:23:03
Package: bash-completion on amd64 -- wheezy: 1:2.0-1; jessie: 1:2.1-4; jessie-backports: 1:2.1-4.3~bpo8+1; stretch: 1:2.1-4.3; sid: 1:2.1-4.3
TheChubu 2017-01-28 12:23:05
jhutchins: i was finding a song and i just played each one manually :D thank you anyway.
edju 2017-01-28 12:30:48
Where does kmail 4.1 store mail? kmail has lost mail and folders. Strangely, the settings remain. I have a backup, but I don't know what to restore.
tomcres 2017-01-28 12:32:01
edju in akonadi
awal1 2017-01-28 12:34:20
Why rmadison need a pkgname as argument for experimental and not for other suites (unstable, testing & stable) (rmadison -s experimental pkgname) ?
awal1 2017-01-28 12:34:29
needs / need
missmbob 2017-01-28 12:35:08
~/.local/share/akonadi/ i guess
gr8 2017-01-28 12:41:38
what is the best way to install the Qt WebChannel development files on my Debian system? http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtwebchannel-index.html
missmbob 2017-01-28 12:43:06
you install stretch
pnorman 2017-01-28 12:43:16
Don't know where to report this, but #debian-next is invite-only
missmbob 2017-01-28 12:43:42
pnorman: dont report it. you're in the wrong place. it's oftc not freenode
pnorman 2017-01-28 12:43:55
Oh, that'd be why
pnorman 2017-01-28 12:44:10
I'm on both networks, so I often mix them up.
missmbob 2017-01-28 12:44:15
!tell pnorman about oftc move
gr8 2017-01-28 12:44:58
missmbob: stretch is testing, right?
