crackotage 2017-01-31 03:45:20
they get downgraded. in severity
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:45:33
I'm looking at all of the release graphs
petn-randall 2017-01-31 03:45:48
crackotage: Pure number of closed/downgraded bugs aren't a strong indicator of when the release is going to happen.
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:46:03
They are the only indicator given on the wiki.
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:46:36
and if you look at the graph, green and blue switch places (testing becomes stable) when green gets close to zero
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:48:01
Then again they say 5-8 months. I'm optimistic though
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:48:11
Considering current progress...
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:53:31
In the context of testing releases, release critical bugs literally means "we can't release this as stable until these bugs are gone". It's the best indicator beyond insider knowledge (aka "secret" public mailing lists and IRC channels)
crackotage 2017-01-31 03:54:44
I find it really annoying that no one has packaged libtoxcore yet. -.- anyway I'll stop talking to myself.
al3xclarke 2017-01-31 04:02:50
anyone know how to tell if iptables is running on debian 8?
jelly 2017-01-31 04:03:22
al3xclarke: run iptables-save, see if there's any rules set
jelly 2017-01-31 04:03:32
there're*
triski 2017-01-31 04:03:42
al3xclarke, what you mean by "running" ?
al3xclarke 2017-01-31 04:05:08
i've come from centos, where iptables runs as a service. isn't it the same with debian?
triski 2017-01-31 04:06:38
al3xclarke, i don't know in centos, but in fedora there is a "firewalld" service , not an iptables service
triski 2017-01-31 04:07:10
firewalld is iptables based, but iptables is just a command to configure the kernel filter tables
jelly 2017-01-31 04:07:11
al3xclarke: it can be, but there is no default iptables setup or service unit installed
fryguy 2017-01-31 04:07:39
al3xclarke: consider `iptables-persistent`
jelly 2017-01-31 04:07:39
and there are probably dozens of firewall-like wrapper packages
jelly 2017-01-31 04:08:02
iptables-persistent is a simple one yes
triski 2017-01-31 04:09:04
in fact "firewalld" package is available in debian
triski 2017-01-31 04:10:38
see https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=firewalld & http://www.firewalld.org/
jim 2017-01-31 04:11:24
does jessie have support for a CS5536 ide controller?
al3xclarke 2017-01-31 04:11:47
fryguy: i'm using scripts to save/load rules, but wasn't sure if i need to start iptables automatically (after reboot).
al3xclarke 2017-01-31 04:11:59
triski: thanks, i'll take a look.
fryguy 2017-01-31 04:12:09
al3xclarke: you need to load the rules, that's it
al3xclarke 2017-01-31 04:12:18
fryguy: ok, thanks.
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:13:26
guys
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:13:53
i'm trying to build two debian packages and i'm getting into troubles
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:14:04
these are the steps: http://p.lr.lt/?hash=981e05ca0d596e27d4501ed2199fc26e
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:14:40
then, after installing both of the packages 'iw reg set COUNTRY_CODE' doesn't work
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:15:13
i think the problem is related to the key i'm trying to sign regulatory.bin with
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:15:48
actually i'm not sure if i should do this by the hand, or should it be signed while building
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:16:37
i change REGDB_AUTHOR to the name of my key, i.e. 'sputnik, in this file: wireless-regdb*/debian/rules
sputnik 2017-01-31 04:16:51
anyone has a clue what am i doing wrong?
noc_ 2017-01-31 04:32:15
jim, it has the driver
jim 2017-01-31 04:32:55
noc_, thank you
