No
choice 2017-01-27 09:46:30
I would like to create a list of all IPs my computer exchanges data with. Any ideas how to go about it?
frNCs_Rf 2017-01-27 09:46:50
And how can i do that if in the partition table it is shown as unallocated?
n4dir 2017-01-27 09:46:56
choice: try this https://ask.wireshark.org/questions/18300/capture-or-filter-only-sent-tx-traffic and if it doesn't work, then just use a searchengine
somiaj 2017-01-27 09:47:15
frNCs_Rf: oh it was more than the file system? In that case you may have to do recovery as has been suggested.
somiaj 2017-01-27 09:47:34
choice: there are also just normal network monintor tools that can get this info
choice 2017-01-27 09:47:45
somiaj: Which one for example?
somiaj 2017-01-27 09:48:16
choice: iptraft, and many more, but most do more than just keep track of the ip, they keep track of other info, not sure which one can easily only give you ips

choice: type 'last'
somiaj 2017-01-27 09:49:42
choice: nevermind, that is only users who have loged in
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 09:49:53

somiaj 2017-01-27 09:50:56
choice: you can use iptables to log address, you can use netstat to see all ipaddress, etc
frNCs_Rf 2017-01-27 09:50:57
somiaj: maybe it's only the partition table
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 09:51:00
Why r u talking to choice?
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 09:51:52
Oh he asked a question
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 09:51:52
What do i do, i am in trouble now
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 09:51:52
Oh he asked a question
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 09:52:04
I did exactly what was asked for
somiaj 2017-01-27 09:52:57
frNCs_Rf: sometimes you can recreate the partition table and if you recreate it exactly the same you can then access the filesystems, but you are in a recovery mode, unsure what is the best suggestion for you
frNCs_Rf 2017-01-27 09:53:36

wingnut 2017-01-27 10:00:04

wingnut 2017-01-27 10:00:29
!rules
dpkg 2017-01-27 10:00:30
1) Don't ask to ask. Just state your problem, 2) Don't repeat until 10 mins after, 3) Read and re-read the docs first, then admit it if you REALLY don't understand. You're wasting your time and ours if you haven't at least tried. 4) If your problem ain't solved, come back in 12 hrs or 24 hrs later. We're very international. 5) Be polite and patient. 6) #debian supports only Debian (see )
frNCs_Rf 2017-01-27 10:01:03
wingnut: no, its of debian my problem
frNCs_Rf 2017-01-27 10:01:09

Yeah, np (:
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:07:30
I have a debian question: how come xorg on debian works better than all other distros I have tried ?
awal1 2017-01-27 10:18:25
wingnut, bcoz software is well tested before it goes into stable branch
kryl 2017-01-27 10:21:23
hi,
kryl 2017-01-27 10:22:03
I have a conflict problem : mariadb-server-10.0 conflicts with mysql-server-core-5.5
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:25:30
awal1: please allow me to explain a little more .. it is a little off-topic but that seems to be ok here
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:26:17
i have a number of VMs, all linux, running under hyper-v
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 10:26:47

wingnut 2017-01-27 10:27:43
i ssh into them all and forward X11 to my desktop (running linux mint 17.2)
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:27:59
then i run firefox on the remote host
RajRajRaj 2017-01-27 10:27:59
Ok so,?
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:28:24
the *only* one that works properly is debian8
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:28:42
all the others work but they are so slow as to be useless
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:29:06
so what do debian do to X to make it work ?
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:30:24
or rather .. work so well ?
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:31:43

tp43_ 2017-01-27 10:33:37
wingnut, why are you running so many linux'
awal1 2017-01-27 10:33:37
wingnut, I don't know what to tell you. debian focuses in stability vs other OS's, long testing period before stable release /experimental ---» unstable ---» testing ----» stable)
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:34:23
tp43_: i run test for FOSS
wingnut 2017-01-27 10:34:44
awal1: they do a very thorough job
epsilon 2017-01-27 10:36:50
awal1: did you mean: vanilla -> arch -> ubuntu -> debian :)
