unborn 2017-01-28 02:48:58

airking 2017-01-28 03:24:11
I have downloaded a file with lynxs, but I cannot find where it downloaded to.

Silicium 2017-01-28 03:27:21
hi there
zykotick9 2017-01-28 03:28:41
airking: check the location you ran/started lynx from
jmbc 2017-01-28 03:29:34
airking: control+z, $ pwd; fg
MaxLanar 2017-01-28 03:31:35
Hi. How can I force aptitude to remove a package when an other one depends on it ?
MaxLanar 2017-01-28 03:31:56
I can't find anyhting useful in the man or the web
themill 2017-01-28 03:32:32
MaxLanar: what are you really trying to achieve?
MaxLanar 2017-01-28 03:36:37
themill: I have both gnupg and gnupg2 on my box, but according to this https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/epa.html#GnuPG-version-compatibility I suspect that it mess things up for my GPG/Emacs/mu4e email solution
MaxLanar 2017-01-28 03:37:28
So I wanted to remove gnupg (at least temporarily) to see if things get better
themill 2017-01-28 03:38:39
if you want a big hammer to break the dependencies, then you'd use dpkg directly; apt will want to fix the damage prior to doing anything else later on
themill 2017-01-28 03:39:09
Given that it will just be running gpg or gpg2 though, it seems unlikely that's an issue
airking 2017-01-28 03:41:45
zykotick9: no dice, I started it from /home/airking. the file is not there
MaxLanar 2017-01-28 03:42:08
themill: 'dpkg -r gnupg --force depends' made the trick, thank you
GenTooMan 2017-01-28 03:43:40
Well it helps to install the dev part of a package to use it properly. (sigh)
zykotick9 2017-01-28 03:44:19
airking: if you know the filename you could "find / -iname 'foo' 2>/dev/null" perhaps?
