Hey
Plushwolf 2017-01-29 09:47:16
I'd like to try Xen in Stretch, but I'm getting a error when I want to create a new machine
Plushwolf 2017-01-29 09:47:19
unsupported configuration: emulator '/usr/lib/xen-4.8/bin/qemu-system-i386' not found»
Plushwolf 2017-01-29 09:47:23
What can I do?
sypher 2017-01-29 09:47:30
!testing
dpkg 2017-01-29 09:47:31
Testing is a continuously updated release between and , currently codenamed . See http://wiki.debian.org/DebianTesting . Support in #debian-next on irc.oftc.net and ask me about stretch> and . You need a sound knowledge of Debian and be prepared for a very bumpy ride. Don't use it on things that are critical!

In short, your source for stretch-related stuff is #debian-next on the OFTC network.

Plushwolf: when you're on testing, you're supposed to check for already reported bugs

Hello! I am going to make my first ssd installation and I would like your opinion on the partitioning scheme and the filesystem. I was thinking to place /home /var swap on an HDD and /boot / on the ssd and use ext4. Thank you!
frostschutz 2017-01-29 10:09:07
James123, that's fine if the SSD is only 16GB large
James123 2017-01-29 10:09:34
frostschutz, it is 256GB
frostschutz 2017-01-29 10:11:19
James123, put everything on SSD. otherwise there's no point to it
frostschutz 2017-01-29 10:12:03
James123, HDD is for movies, anything that's big, clunky and does not benefit from ssd speeds
James123 2017-01-29 10:12:15
Even /var which performs many writes?
frostschutz 2017-01-29 10:12:24
SSDs are fine with many writes
James123 2017-01-29 10:12:48
Ok, thanks! Is ext4 ok as a filesystem?
frostschutz 2017-01-29 10:13:26
sure
