not a technical question, but....can anyone identify the gnome used in this picture: https://camo.githubusercontent.com/bc3954d1f31bb15ccebb91c4320ff43a815018a1/68747470733a2f2f7261772e6769746875622e636f6d2f557368616b6f76566173696c69692f676e6f6d652d7368656c6c2d657874656e73696f6e2d6672656f6e2f6d61737465722f696d672f70616e656c5f6d656e752e6a7067

no
tomcres 2017-01-28 13:49:14
looks like standard adwaita
Pr0metheus 2017-01-28 13:52:38
tomcres looked it up, seems like it in a very old version
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:02:42
Does anyone know if the xbox one controller is supported in Debian stable? If it is, how can I set it up?
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:02:48
Preferably without recompiling my kernel.
tomcres 2017-01-28 14:04:35
you need kernel >= 3.17; unfortunately jessie (stable) has 3.16, BUT you can get a later version from backports
tomcres 2017-01-28 14:04:42
,v linux-image-amd64
judd 2017-01-28 14:04:43
Package: linux-image-amd64 on amd64 -- wheezy: 3.2+46; wheezy-backports: 3.16+63~bpo70+1; jessie: 3.16+63; jessie-backports: 4.8+77~bpo8+1; stretch: 4.9+78; sid: 4.9+78
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:04:48
Damn.
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:04:50
Thanks.
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:05:54
Let's say that I want to compile my own kernel, is there a way to easily remove it once I'm done with it?
missmbob 2017-01-28 14:05:55
,xboxdrv
tomcres 2017-01-28 14:06:24
brimonk: why compile your own kernel? it's much easier to install a newer one from backports
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:06:36
That's true.
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:07:37
And I can just remove the backported linux kernel when I'm done with it?
missmbob 2017-01-28 14:10:15
if you're bored. this "i dont need it right now, toss it" mentality will get you in trouble if it hasnt already
brimonk 2017-01-28 14:13:19
I would honestly prefer a udev driver for it...

I have an Lenovo X201t with Wacom Digitizer. Earlier (a year ago) the digitizer was automatically recognized. But as I installed Debian 8 Jessie via cd image on it, the digitizer was not recognized. Any idea?
epsilon 2017-01-28 14:23:05
standard way is to run lsusb/lspci and install the driver/firmware
epsilon 2017-01-28 14:23:31
check if you have contributed/non-free as source
goto- 2017-01-28 14:26:16
epsilon: installed xserver-xorg-input-wacom
goto- 2017-01-28 14:26:31
logged out & in no detection
missmbob 2017-01-28 14:28:40
of course there's no detection. you still havent listened to tomcres and upgraded the kernel from jessie-backports
goto- 2017-01-28 14:31:46
missmbob: ?
goto- 2017-01-28 14:32:03
missmbob: there was a working detection
