awal1 2017-01-27 13:53:32
what says apt-cache policy kgpg ?
awal1 2017-01-27 13:53:37
,v kgpg
judd 2017-01-27 13:53:38
Package: kgpg on amd64 -- wheezy: 4:4.8.4-4; jessie: 4:4.14.2-1; sid: 4:16.08.3-1; stretch: 4:16.08.3-1
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 13:54:44
"apt-get autoremove" to remove it says. Im going in.
awal1 2017-01-27 13:54:44
also dpkg -L kgpg
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 13:55:50
didn't work that either. let me paste bin what they say for you
awal1 2017-01-27 13:56:07
autoremove removes pkgs installed by the main pkg pkg a installs pkg b and c; if you remove a, apt will remove b and c if not needed by d, e, f ....
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 13:57:00
I didn't quite understand that, I'm stil crawling in debian, trying to walk.
awal1 2017-01-27 13:57:06
if you installed kgpg from debian official repos, what you are saying shouldn't happen
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 13:57:21
I installed it with apt-get install kgpg
awal1 2017-01-27 13:57:34
outputs :P
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 13:58:01
so maybe if I do auto remove and install from synaptic?
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 13:58:16
Maybe that's a samurai solution

coruja 2017-01-27 13:59:57
CodeMachine, start pasting output of command you've been asked for, then someone may help
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:00:28
awal1: it's ok, my samurai solution actually worked.
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:00:41
Thank you awal1 for help.
awal1 2017-01-27 14:01:39
:D
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:02:41
awal1: nvm looks like it's not working. The icon appears but the program won't start. Gonna give you the paste now. apt-cache policy kgpg and dpkg -L kgpg
awal1 2017-01-27 14:03:32
well, I don't use that pkg, anyway; just wanted to know if it still installed and it's location

awal1 2017-01-27 14:06:19
well, your kgpg is installed v. 4:4.14.2-1 but from a non official debian repo :P
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:06:41
How is that possible when I used apt-get install?
tomcres 2017-01-27 14:06:56
kgpg doesn't close when you click the X. instead it minimizes to the system tray area and runs in the background.
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:06:56
And now I used even synaptic for it?
awal1 2017-01-27 14:06:58
is that kali linux or any debian based distro?
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:07:05
debian jessie

CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:10:34
Long story short we can agree upon: All good in the hood?
TomTomTo1 2017-01-27 14:11:28

CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:12:37

awal1 2017-01-27 14:12:46

CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:13:36
Ok, what other ways can I uninstall than remove and autoremove?
TomTomTo1 2017-01-27 14:13:43

TomTomTo1 2017-01-27 14:14:36

CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:15:09
Not gonna try since I got it to work now, but will remember to next time. Thank you for holding my hand when I'm learning to walk. What would life be without you guys.
awal1 2017-01-27 14:17:16
you may want to write a poen for debian; it looks like you are good on poetry
awal1 2017-01-27 14:17:27
poem ^
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:18:26
One day I might sum everything up to a lovely story about the life inside debian =D
fnljk_ 2017-01-27 14:20:51
Anyone know how I can solve apt-get (upgrade/install/remove) issue I have; seemingly stemming from conflicting Ruby Gems-packages/installs? Is this appropriate here or think more fitting I ask in #ruby or similar? I'm quite n00b to both Linux & Ruby in general tbh .. https://paste.debian.net/911031/
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:24:15
We just had a similiar problem actually. Have you tried apt-get autoremove?
fnljk_ 2017-01-27 14:24:30
yep
fnljk_ 2017-01-27 14:25:19
autoclean , check "apt-get -f install", "--fix-broken install .." in various combinations as well, and trying to install/uninstall the vairous kinds too.. hmm. :s
CodeMachine 2017-01-27 14:25:35
apt-get --reinstall and then remove?
TomTomTo1 2017-01-27 14:28:18
don't just randomly mix commands D:
fnljk_ 2017-01-27 14:28:23
ex: "apt-get --reinstall ruby-fuubar" doesn't seem to work
TomTomTo1 2017-01-27 14:29:00
because it's nonsense. please explain your problem first.
TomTomTo1 2017-01-27 14:29:09

In order to troubleshoot your problem with apt-get, apt or aptitude we need ALL OF THE FOLLOWING information: 1. complete output of your apt-get/apt/aptitude run (including the command used) 2. output from "apt-cache policy pkg1 pkg2..." for ALL packages mentioned ANYWHERE in the problem, and 3. "apt-cache policy". Use http://paste.debian.net/ to provide us with this information. Also ask me about .
fnljk_ 2017-01-27 14:29:18
(I already tried "apt-get remove )" already btw, also installing (the ones seemingly lacking (dependencies for)
fnljk_ 2017-01-27 14:29:49
hm,policy huh.. thanks lemme try that, eventually return with new paste, then

Trying to reload the known units by systemd with ``systemctl --user daemon-reload'' The following is returned: ``Failed to connect to bus: No such file or directory''. Is this a dbus issue?

My dead keys (accents) stop working after I suspend my computer. Any idea what it could be?
