Hi I am trying to use iptables to DNAT packets from one local machine to another local machine and I am not having much luck.
Delf 2017-01-31 05:08:44
linux-image-4.9.0-0.bpo.1-amd64-unsigned, what does unsigned mean?
jim 2017-01-31 05:08:58
is there a jessie debian installer that has an i386 nonpae kernel?
towo` 2017-01-31 05:09:42
Delf, it would not boot on securebott enabled systems
towo` 2017-01-31 05:09:57
*secureboot
Delf 2017-01-31 05:10:48
Why is that? What's going on?
missmbob 2017-01-31 05:11:26
debian's never worked on secureboot. now it's playing around with it - that's what you're seeing. to try to get it to work for stretch
jim 2017-01-31 05:12:20
i386 nonpae installer?
Delf 2017-01-31 05:13:01
missmbob: If memory serves, I've installed Debian using secureboot and it worked perfectly fine.
missmbob 2017-01-31 05:13:24
Delf: your memory is wrong. it works with uefi, not secureboot.
Delf 2017-01-31 05:14:58
missmbob: There's high probability that it was uefi and not secureboot. There's is the missing memory data integrity check.
Delf 2017-01-31 05:15:43
So, secureboot hates at the Linux kernel?
missmbob 2017-01-31 05:16:10
Delf: a lot of distros supposed it. ubuntu does, for example. debian's been slow
missmbob 2017-01-31 05:16:18
support*
jelly 2017-01-31 05:16:45
there's support in stretch d-i iirc
User2040 2017-01-31 05:18:54
Hello all. I've a problem with libreoffice gui, I installed it on a debian distro and it looks ugly I don't know why

User2040 2017-01-31 05:18:54
Why does it look like that?
petn-randall 2017-01-31 05:19:16
User2040: What is the distro?
User2040 2017-01-31 05:19:43
kali linux
petn-randall 2017-01-31 05:19:52
!kali
dpkg 2017-01-31 05:19:53
Kali Linux (http://www.kali.org/) is a security and penetration testing distribution from the creators of . It is based on Debian, but it is not Debian and is not supported in #debian. Seek help in #kali-linux on chat.freenode.net or http://forums.kali.org/ . Also ask me about , and read http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html
petn-randall 2017-01-31 05:20:01
User2040: You can ask on this channel. ^^^
User2040 2017-01-31 05:21:54
I though it was a simple problem and I seek help here because I though it was more quick to get answer, since debian is a popular distro. Thanks anyway
petn-randall 2017-01-31 05:22:48
User2040: We only support Debian in here, not derived distros.
petn-randall 2017-01-31 05:22:51

dpkg 2017-01-31 05:22:51
Your distribution may be based on and have software in common with Debian, but it is not Debian. We don't and cannot know what changes were made by your distribution (compare http://futurist.se/gldt/). #debian only supports Debian and pure s; please respect our choice to volunteer here to help Debian users. Support for other distributions is off-topic on #debian, even if your own distro's channel is clueless or non-existent.
User2040 2017-01-31 05:23:31
I understand I'll ask on kali linux channel
Delf 2017-01-31 05:29:29
Thanks you for your support.
contrapunctus 2017-01-31 05:38:44
Why am I not able to mount a partition during the install? (I try 'mkdir /media/something' then 'mount /dev/sda1 /media/something/' in the shell and it says "invalid argument") blkid does not tell me what the partition contains; even df could be helpful...if I could mount the partition :\ (is it because it's an NTFS partition?)
somiaj 2017-01-31 05:44:13
contrapunctus: ntfs isn't a standard supported filesystem. There is a driver in the kernel that can read ntfs, but the ntfs-3g driver which isn't included by default is better. I would just put off dealing with ntfs partitions until after the install.
