jessie on 1 PC takes long to boot but seems to work as one would expect it. its just that /var/log/syslog contains more than 1000 lines of errors and warnings per run

contrapunctus: this is why you should have backups. also, you should see which partitions are of what type during the install, so an ntfs partition should be relatively simple to identify

contrapunctus: I'm surprised that it can't tell you it is an ntfs file system (or mount it), but in that case you may want to load parted as an optional installing tool to better look at the partition layout
