somiaj: For me this make no sense. mount.cifs is for clients and samba for server. But may be other people have an other view on this ;-).

Gabs5807: somiaj explained in the line above your two last posts, that this is the case in jessie but not stretch... so it appears someone else agrees with you ;)

I changed my router to give my network card another IP using DHCP but I'm not getting the new IP even if I disable and enable the the network through network manager. Also "dhclient -r" does not do the trick
