somiaj 2017-02-28 07:54:05

Shadow_7 2017-02-28 07:55:52
ffmpeg instead of avconv in stretch?
somiaj 2017-02-28 07:56:29
menace: icedove will work just fine, thundirbird has been mostly dead and not supported by mozilla for a while, though a group of volunteers are mataining thunderbird, it really isn't that much different than the icedove in debian.
somiaj 2017-02-28 07:56:55
Shadow_7: yes ffmpeg is back, but I think the av tools are there if you want to use those too.
menace 2017-02-28 07:57:44
i thought there's a bigger thunderbird release upcoming?
missmbob 2017-02-28 07:58:15
that's because SoC, not mozilla
menace 2017-02-28 07:59:37
SoC?
somiaj 2017-02-28 07:59:42
menace: I am unsure about that, I was just looking at the current one which isn't that different than debian. If a new one is in the works, it wno't be in stretch due to the freeze, but maybe after it gets in debian can be backported.
missmbob 2017-02-28 07:59:43

Hi, trying to compile stuff under Debian, and having some problems. Instructions say "just run ./configure" (doesn't work), or I may need to run "autogen.sh" which doesn't work either "autoreconf: not found). Any advice, other than use Windows?

somiaj 2017-02-28 08:26:04
qwebirc13946: you need to install the build depends, start with the build-essential package, after that install the -dev libs needed to compile the software
missmbob 2017-02-28 08:26:06
qwebirc13946: see where it says icecast requires? get the -dev packages for all of those then run ./configure again
greycat 2017-02-28 08:26:59
,file bin/autoreconf
judd 2017-02-28 08:27:03
Search for bin/autoreconf in jessie/amd64: autoconf: usr/bin/autoreconf; autoconf2.13: usr/bin/autoreconf
qwebirc13946 2017-02-28 08:28:48
"build-essential is already the newest version."
greycat 2017-02-28 08:29:31
Good. You also need the autoconf package.
qwebirc13946 2017-02-28 08:31:36
@greycat Thanks. That's sorted it out.
