dpkg cifs-utils_2
dpkg 2017-02-28 23:47:08
ausinch: have you tried http://www.tldp.org/ ?
veek_ 2017-02-28 23:47:11
guys how come: ausyscall --dump|grep -i accept doesn't work on debian
veek_ 2017-02-28 23:47:44
it works on RHEL
themill 2017-02-28 23:48:44
ausinch: asking a question might help
ausinch 2017-02-28 23:52:15
themill: Yeah - ongoing problem from yesterday. It was speculated that my kernel and /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/fs/cifs/cifs.ko were not matched causing cifs not to mount
themill 2017-02-28 23:52:45
ausinch: did you install a kernel update and not reboot?
ausinch 2017-02-28 23:53:02
I will get back to asking more questions when I get time - - have to run now for an apointment
ausinch 2017-02-28 23:56:31
themill: lots of reboots between each change/update
jcplouf 2017-03-01 00:01:30
hi, in tput, the reset color command, tput sgr0, prints "\E[m\E(B" - any idea what the "\E(B" part is/does?
BluesKaj 2017-03-01 00:56:43
Hey folks
tdn 2017-03-01 00:57:53
I just upgraded to debian 8 and noticed that no ed25519 host key is generated for SSH server on upgrade. How do I manually generate this ssh host key after upgrade?
tdn 2017-03-01 00:58:36
Can I just run: ssh-keygen -q -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ed25519_key -N "" -t ed25519 ?
jolt 2017-03-01 01:08:25
tdn: Yeah, that should work
tdn 2017-03-01 01:08:38
jolt, thanks
tdn 2017-03-01 01:08:50
Maybe this should be done automatically on upgrade
tdn 2017-03-01 01:08:55
Or some systems may never be upgraded
bezaban 2017-03-01 01:09:20
yeah, file a bug if it isn't already :)
bezaban 2017-03-01 01:09:46
or documented in the dist upgrade docs
jolt 2017-03-01 01:11:11
I don't have one on my upgraded server, but it doesn't seem to matter here
reev 2017-03-01 01:33:44
Hi how can i run services in particular order like I want to run mysql after dnsmasq at boot time?
phicode 2017-03-01 01:34:38
~reev editing run-time init script
phicode 2017-03-01 01:35:27
if you've got system-D good luck with that!
phicode 2017-03-01 01:35:40
lol
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 01:36:10
Or bring it all down after boot and start to taste
ausinch 2017-03-01 01:40:36
Hi Shadow_7 yesterday you helped me determine that the cifs mod was not loading - possibly due to a wrong version in /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/fs/cifs/ how do i correct this?
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 01:41:34
ausinch: I would imagine... apt-get install --reinstall linux-image-amd64
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 01:42:17
ausinch: plus whatever you need for your rap song... while the real /boot/ please stand up.
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 01:42:26
s/while/will/
FinalX 2017-03-01 01:42:54
phicode: it's actually much easier with systemd than it was than "just editing the init scripts", because you won't have to touch those scripts; you can make a simple override-file that just requires dnsmasq to be up before you start mysql
FinalX 2017-03-01 01:43:17
s/than/with/2
ausinch 2017-03-01 01:43:22
Shadow_7: yeah, i found there was just the one /boot/ after all
phicode 2017-03-01 01:44:58
ill take your word for it, I've never tried
phicode 2017-03-01 01:45:15
havent used Linux in ages
