tofutoon: what I do with my clients is simply plug into network rpi with reverse ssh to my server, then I connect to rpi and have look at network.. then connect to desktop via rdp or vnc and do remote support.. most of vncs have chat build in.. also I run my own irc server if user wants to chat and I am on rdp.. but thats over kill.. simple skype should give you screensharing (no remote access just sharing) and chat.. is that what you looking for?
