sefru: pkg-config might help
oiaohm 2017-02-28 20:48:19
vita_cell2: it is documented that with gtx770 nvidia they are more stable if you extract the roms from the closed source driver and load those or use the provided roms.
sefru 2017-02-28 20:48:52
icez: Thanks for the answer! :) I'll try to figure it out.
vita_cell2 2017-02-28 20:48:56
obviously, but I shouldn'y do it, as I hate non-free
oiaohm 2017-02-28 20:48:59
vita_cell2: mirocode in the rom on the card these days is only good enough to boot the system.
vita_cell2 2017-02-28 20:49:24
yeah, industry tends to move blobs-firmwares outside the rom
oiaohm 2017-02-28 20:49:41
So they can be replaced in case of issues.
oiaohm 2017-02-28 20:49:52
Instead of having to bin the card.
icez 2017-02-28 20:50:01
oiaohm: e.g. pkg-config --cflags zlib
icez 2017-02-28 20:50:17
and/or --libs
icez 2017-02-28 20:54:43
oiaohm: also the -l option just prepends 'lib' and appends '.a' while searching in your lib path.
Jan\ 2017-02-28 20:56:23
anyone know where to find a squid VM image ?
sefru 2017-02-28 20:57:09
icex: Thank you, this seems to work! :)
digdilem 2017-02-28 20:59:38
n/j #perl
sefru 2017-02-28 21:08:31
Thanks for the help I got earlier, but I still can't seem to link to the FreeType library properly.
sefru 2017-02-28 21:09:06
I have installed the developement files, and included the library in source with:
sefru 2017-02-28 21:09:15
#include
sefru 2017-02-28 21:09:25
and #include
sefru 2017-02-28 21:09:42
the on my makefile i link with -l libfreetype
sefru 2017-02-28 21:10:25
But when I try to compile it gives an error that says:
sefru 2017-02-28 21:10:36
/usr/include/freetype2/ft2build.h:37:29: fatal error: config/ftheader.h: file doesn't exists
sefru 2017-02-28 21:10:48
Alltough it does exists, I have checked it.
Ticho 2017-02-28 21:10:53
exists where?
sefru 2017-02-28 21:11:20
/usr/include/freetype2/config/fthreader.h
Ticho 2017-02-28 21:12:38
are you adding the necessary -I flag? I recommend using pkg-config to get correct compiler and linker flags, e.g. pkg-config --cflags --libs freetype2
sefru 2017-02-28 21:14:26
Using that command gives me:
sefru 2017-02-28 21:14:28
-I/usr/include/freetype2 -lfreetype
sefru 2017-02-28 21:14:56
I now changed the linking in my makefile to -lfreetype, but it still gives the same error
icez 2017-02-28 21:15:08
so you could do: gcc blah.cpp -o blah `pkg-config --cflags --libs freetype2`
icez 2017-02-28 21:15:13
you need the -I part too
sefru 2017-02-28 21:15:51
Oh! :D
sefru 2017-02-28 21:15:58
Thank you very much! =)
sefru 2017-02-28 21:16:02
Now it works! =)
Ticho 2017-02-28 21:16:07
and remove the "freetype2" from your #includes
icez 2017-02-28 21:16:08
basically /usr/include is the default but gcc doesn't look inside subdirectories
sefru 2017-02-28 21:16:39
Okay, thanks. :)
Ticho 2017-02-28 21:16:40
just e.g. "#include ", since you're passing a correct dir with the -I flag
sefru 2017-02-28 21:17:52
Yes, thank you very much Ticho and icez! =)
apostolis 2017-02-28 21:40:58
hello, I am trying to install stretch. The problem I have is that to connect to the network I need to open a browser first, then it allows me to access the internet. I downloaded the complete xfce cd but it apears that the default browser does not work.
apostolis 2017-02-28 21:42:51
Is there a stretch cd with the lynx browser?
oiaohm 2017-02-28 21:43:10
apostolis: I guess pings work
apostolis 2017-02-28 21:43:24
Only to the local gateway.
oiaohm 2017-02-28 21:43:25
apostolis: if using wifi sometimes this can be missing firmware.
oiaohm 2017-02-28 21:43:54
nslookup does work?
Psy-Q 2017-02-28 21:44:14
does e10s (multiprocess) work for you with firefox 51 from mozilla.debian.net? for me it's always disabled, even in safe mode
n4dir 2017-02-28 21:44:59
lynx probably doesn't have much dependencies. download the deb packages from packages.debian.org and install them with dpkg. perhaps ?
