#debian channel featuring judd, jelly, wiking, slax0r, alexxey, ben25,

slax0r 2017-02-02 20:47:18
here we go, no, the index.html file is removed in /var/www/html after rm -rf /var/www/*
jelly 2017-02-02 20:47:41
so problem solved.
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:47:52
how is it solved?
jelly 2017-02-02 20:48:37
what if you rm -r /var/www/html explicitly
jelly 2017-02-02 20:48:58
slax0r: and look at what "/var/www/*" expands to
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:49:27
yeah, that works if I remove /var/www/html explicitly
jelly 2017-02-02 20:49:48
then your shell is weird.
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:50:41
yeah, this happens like I said during a docker container build, which works just ok on my local machine, but when building it on a server this happens, maybe go bug #docker ?
jelly 2017-02-02 20:51:00
if you run "echo /var/www/*" the same way you attempt to run "rm -rf /var/www/*"
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:51:33
echo /var/www/* outputs just /var/www/html
jelly 2017-02-02 20:51:34
but again, that's just another weird thing that happens with constructs like foo/*
jelly 2017-02-02 20:51:54
slax0r: in the same environment as rm?
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:51:56
it happens with rm -rf /var/www too
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:52:01
yes
jelly 2017-02-02 20:52:08
,v docker
judd 2017-02-02 20:52:09
Package: docker on amd64 -- wheezy: 1.4-5; sid: 1.5-1; jessie: 1.5-1; stretch: 1.5-1
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:52:26

jelly 2017-02-02 20:53:15
slax0r: are you sure this "docker" thing calls /bin/rm and not some internal rm thing that acts differently?
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:53:55
jelly: tbh, no
jelly 2017-02-02 20:54:20
I suspect it does something other than what you're expecting
jelly 2017-02-02 20:54:43
you may try to strace it if you want to debug
jelly 2017-02-02 20:55:17
but yes, if there's a specific channel it probably makes sense to ask there
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:55:54
yeah, I have a feeling that this is more docker related than debian related
slax0r 2017-02-02 20:56:21
thank you for your help, I'll try a couple of things, and ask there if problems persist
wiking 2017-02-02 21:34:34
anybody knows whether there's a minimum -march option one could set in a debian rules file when building for amd64 target?
alexxey 2017-02-02 21:39:19
Which package do I need to install in order to use SPICE graphics with qemu/kvm?
alexxey 2017-02-02 21:40:21
I'm having trouble finding related documentation in the debian wiki.
ben25 2017-02-02 21:43:12
