The last question: If I logout to all system or reboot, in the next login the changes works to all system and users?
BluesKaj-pi 2017-03-01 03:48:32
john_rambo, you'll have to find a converter or a Video editor that can handle opus to mp3 conversion, or perhaps you could convert the audio file separately
john_rambo 2017-03-01 03:49:53
BluesKaj-pi, WinFF can do that but it converts both the Video and Audio... No option to keep the Video and encode the audio only
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 03:51:45
paw: Several of the more common ones are set up to use dkms, which builds them automatically and rebuilds if the kernel gets updated.
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 03:51:51
!dkms
dpkg 2017-03-01 03:51:51
Dynamic Kernel Module Support (DKMS) is a framework for generating out-of-tree Linux kernel modules. Packages using DKMS build modules during installation and when updated Linux versions are installed, provided Linux kernel headers are present (these are not installed by dkms). DKMS-managed modules are installed to /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/updates/dkms/ . The module build log file is at /var/lib/dkms/$module/$version/build/make.log

john_rambo: You could look at ffmpeg, and you might want to look at the packages from deb-multimedia.org - sometimes they have additional formats enabled.
Donquixote 2017-03-01 04:00:09
Is there an AddOn like "HTML5 everywhere" for Chromium?
john_rambo 2017-03-01 04:00:42
jhutchins_wk, deb-multimedia.org is added ....I have installed avidemux from deb-multimedia.org
han-solo 2017-03-01 04:01:54
i though ffmpeg was deprecated :/
doubledutch 2017-03-01 04:02:28
han-solo: through standards or amount of use today?
pepee 2017-03-01 04:02:56
you mean replaced by libav=
pepee 2017-03-01 04:02:58
?
han-solo 2017-03-01 04:03:16
yeah, libavconv
han-solo 2017-03-01 04:03:22
no?
pepee 2017-03-01 04:04:18
there was some drama there, I have no idea how it ended
han-solo 2017-03-01 04:04:26
hmm
pepee 2017-03-01 04:04:33
apparently, the devs moved back to ffmpeg or something
han-solo 2017-03-01 04:05:21
okay
petn-randall 2017-03-01 04:07:16
Donquixote: What does it do? Is it still needed in this time and day?
doubledutch 2017-03-01 04:07:22
I use it
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:07:48
You can extract the video and audio and edit the audio and remux the video and altered audio together.
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:08:32
There's -sn -an -vn flags for no subtitles, audio, video, and -codec:a copy, -codec:v copy... with avconv a fork of ffmpeg
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:09:03
You'll still need to install the opus codec to use it though.
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 04:10:08
,v ffmpeg
judd 2017-03-01 04:10:09
Package: ffmpeg on amd64 -- wheezy: 6:0.8.17-2; wheezy-security: 6:0.8.20-0+deb7u1; jessie-backports: 7:3.2.4-1~bpo8+1; sid: 7:3.2.4-1; stretch: 7:3.2.4-1; wheezy-multimedia: 8:1.0.10-dmo1; jessie-multimedia: 10:2.6.9-dmo1; sid-multimedia: 10:3.2.4-dmo2
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 04:10:33
No official jessie package. I think upstream stalled or something.
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:10:50
it's libav-utils on jessie
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:11:05
libav-tools actually
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 04:12:10
There's some sort of 'why is ffmpeg not in jessie' function on one of the bots but I'm not sure how to address it.
doubledutch 2017-03-01 04:13:10
are you saying my LAME scripts don't work anymore?
doubledutch 2017-03-01 04:13:30
wrote hooks into an entire network for that, am I behind on the times? Jesus
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:14:25
they mostly work, just avconv instead of ffmpeg. # ln -s /usr/bin/avconv /usr/bin/ffmpeg ?????
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:14:54
there are some CLI syntax differences though
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 04:15:59
or wait until stretch when ffmpeg returns
han-solo 2017-03-01 04:18:01

Thanks Shadow_7
doubledutch 2017-03-01 04:19:39
That makes a lot of sense, reviewing the scripts and it's mostly good
somiaj 2017-03-01 04:19:59
jhutchins_wk: http://ircbots.debian.net/ is a useful search. libav seems to give some info
somiaj 2017-03-01 04:20:12
or just get ffmpeg from jessie-backports
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 04:26:17
doubledutch: You can also install ffmpeg from backports.
jhutchins_wk 2017-03-01 04:26:36
Sorry.
