jelly: showkey did not see my key ..
Donquixote 2017-03-01 22:53:18
Meh. Why can't I play flv files in VLC and MPlayer. The sound plays. But the sce

Donquixote 2017-03-01 22:55:00
Pls help
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 22:55:24
Donquixote: what about avplay?
jelly 2017-03-01 22:55:45
zmitya: that's kind of bad. Maybe a newer kernel will have better drivers for your keyboard.
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 22:56:27
Maybe it's an Fn type key and only exists on keyboard
Donquixote 2017-03-01 22:56:28
It display libavplaysomething. I'm installing it
Donquixote 2017-03-01 22:57:19
Shadow_7: It did not help
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 22:57:20
Donquixote: apt-get install libav-tools
Donquixote 2017-03-01 22:57:44
That was already installed
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 22:57:48
Donquixote: what does avprobe say about the file?
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 22:58:13
Technically FLV is "flash" video, so maybe flash is required
zmitya 2017-03-01 22:58:14
jelly: at work, I have a Centos7 with 3.10. Jessie has 3.16, so should not be a problem :(
zmitya 2017-03-01 22:59:04
jelly, Shadow_7: I have the same keyb at home and at work .. TESORO TS-G1NL

zmitya: RHEL/CentOS backport a lot of drivers from newer kernels, version number is not necessarily indicative of featureset there
zmitya 2017-03-01 23:00:37
jelly: oh, ok, I see
jelly 2017-03-01 23:01:31
zmitya: I'd try a kernel from jessie-backports for a test, see if there's anything different
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:01:38

jelly 2017-03-01 23:01:40
dpkg, tell zmitya about bdo kernel
jelly 2017-03-01 23:01:48
dpkg, tell zmitya about jessie-backports
zmitya 2017-03-01 23:02:36
jelly: thx
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:02:45
It's not just that file though. YouTube videos in general won't be displayed
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:03:02
And another MP4
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:03:12
Someone said MP4 has issues in Jessie
zmitya 2017-03-01 23:03:15
jelly: btw, what does "3rd level of Left CTRL" mean ?
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:03:25
But MPlayer also doesn't work
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:05:05
Donquixote: vp6f seems like a problem format. $ avconv -codecs 2>&1 | grep -i vp6f
jelly 2017-03-01 23:05:35
Donquixote: does mpv work?
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:06:23
Seems to have decode abilities
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:06:39
I don't know. I don't have an mpv file :x
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:06:50
Donquixote: apt-get install mpv
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:07:04
it's a fork of mplayer / mplayer2
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:07:04
mkv doesn't even start with MPlayer. With VLC, it just plays the audio
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:07:40
I'm installing it
sep 2017-03-01 23:09:52
good day, i just upgraded a debian to stretch; and there must be something very wrong with vi/vim. i have problems with basic things like cut and paste with middleclick mouse
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:11:46
http://paste.debian.net/917591/
jelly 2017-03-01 23:12:03
sep: does selection copy with left mouse and paste with middle work in the same terminal outside of vim?
sep 2017-03-01 23:12:08
works like normal in the shell, so it's just a problem in vim for some reason
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:12:12
Donquixote: mpv --ao=pulse --vo=opengl --hwdec=auto --video-zoom=0 --framedrop=vo --no-osc --osd-level=1 ./media_file.ext
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:12:20
how I launch mine ^^^
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:12:45
I think I'll just get Wine and VLC. In my experience, Windows versions of many programs work a fuckton better than their GNU/Linux counterparts, even in Wine
jelly 2017-03-01 23:12:51
Shadow_7: most of that is autodetected default, notably ao pulse and vo opengl
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:13:32
I sometimes use vappi and jackd, easier to just have it so I can just cursor and change
sep 2017-03-01 23:14:33
very strange, for some reason, middle click on mouse acts like 'p' in vi, instead of pasteing what is in the clipboard it paste what is in vi cliboard
borsin 2017-03-01 23:14:48
sep: you are in insert mode when pasting - assuming you're copying something outside of vim?
sep 2017-03-01 23:15:00
borsin, indeed
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:15:20
I'd like to know: Can I somehow put my Debian in the state of a newly installed KDE desktop, with only my browser and icedove settings, as well as openbox, being intact? Without newinstallation?
jelly 2017-03-01 23:15:38
Donquixote: create a new user?
jelly 2017-03-01 23:15:58
and copy over desired config
jelly 2017-03-01 23:16:08
and copy desired config over*
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:16:19
No, I mean, I'd like to remove any unnecessary packages, such as the media ones I've installed now
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:16:35
I installed my Debian with LXDE and added Xfce a few days later
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:16:44
I'd like to get rig of them and switch to KDE
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:16:58
With removing every unnecessary package such as PCManFM and Thunar
jelly 2017-03-01 23:18:03
Donquixote: remove the xfce metapackages you installed manually, and hope aptitude or apt pick up most of the now unneeded dependencies
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:19:00
What about LXDE?
sep 2017-03-01 23:20:31
the mouse issue in vim seams to have been a bug, but the bug is closed, https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=839112
judd 2017-03-01 23:20:32
Bug http://bugs.debian.org/839112 in vim-runtime (closed): «Please revert to previous default settings»; severity: normal; opened: 2016-09-29; last modified: 2016-11-07.
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:24:45
Donquixote: looks like opengGL isn't working right on your system
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:24:56
Donquixote: try --vo=x11 for mpv
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:25:32
And how do I fix that? =(
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:25:40
I need OpenGL for Emulators
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:25:53
Donquixote: probably missing packages or user is not in the video group
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:26:26
What packages? How can I add myself in to the group?
sep 2017-03-01 23:26:29
borsin, jelly , one actualy have to add a string like let g:skip_defaults_vim = 1 to get sane vim again.
jelly 2017-03-01 23:26:42
Donquixote: same thing but with task-lxde-desktop package, I guess
sep 2017-03-01 23:26:46
to /etc/vim/vimrc
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:27:03
Donquixote: $(groups) to see what groups... apt-get install libgl1-mesa-glx mesa-utils && glxinfo | grep -i direct
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:27:52
should say YES for direct rendering if things are good. And glxgears should show gears.
Donquixote 2017-03-01 23:28:47
Yes for direct rendering. glxgears displayed a memory access error
jelly 2017-03-01 23:28:59
Shadow_7: libgl1-mesa-glx contains the software rendering stuff, libgl1-mesa-dri is for hardware
jelly 2017-03-01 23:29:18
and that's for free drivers
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:29:39
should be grabbed as a dep? no?
jelly 2017-03-01 23:29:48
no
jelly 2017-03-01 23:29:59
judd: depends libgl1-mesa-glx
judd 2017-03-01 23:30:00

judd 2017-03-01 23:30:18
Package libgl1-mesa-glx in jessie/amd64 -- recommends: libgl1-mesa-dri (>= 7.2).
jelly 2017-03-01 23:30:25
or maybe yes
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:30:33
You still need the software part though. Not all rendering needs are handled by hardware. At least for most cards I've seen (low end)
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:35:01
Hello! I would like to disable bluetooth on boot . Should I use this http://askubuntu.com/questions/419115/make-bluetooth-disabled-by-default ?
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:36:32
afx_: do you still want to use it at all? bluez is the package that provides the thing for it.
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:37:12
Shadow_7, I am having problems using it correctly , so I guess I wouldnt mind using it at all
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:37:34
define "problems"
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:37:53
Shadow_7, connecting problems
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:38:08
sometimes successful? or never?
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:38:37
My phone is rarely discovered and if so , once I start the transfer the bt on my laptop turns off
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:39:35
signal strength issue? or more likely to be the driver.
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:39:56
or once if discovered I can't turn it on , i.e. it turns automatically off
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:40:24
Maybe you're holding it wrong (j/k old apple quote)
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:40:26
how can I find out if the driver works correctly
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:41:14
afx_: might be things in dmesg that say that it's doing stuff. like missing firmware or disconnecting a lot. Otherwise /var/log/ stuffs or journalctl
anddam 2017-03-01 23:41:52
hello
Shadow_7 2017-03-01 23:42:00

afx_ 2017-03-01 23:44:49
Shadow_7, yes I was trying to send a file currently
afx_ 2017-03-01 23:45:07
how shall I disable it if I get no solution ?
