Hey. I have mounted debian dvd 2 to a usb stick in order to install some packages to a pc wich is not connected to the internet. How do I add it to the source file list so I can install the packages threw the terminal? Note: It's not an iso file, it's mounted on a usb stick.
trumpy_ 2017-03-01 16:51:20
hey all
icez 2017-03-01 16:52:35
Teststst: apt-cdrom add -d /mnt/yourusb
icez 2017-03-01 16:52:47
then update
Teststst 2017-03-01 16:53:47
icez: ye I tried that, and the /media/debian path but it does not work :( here is output: https://paste.debian.net/917556/
icez 2017-03-01 16:56:09
Teststst: mount the cd and use the /mnt/point and not /dev/sdb
missmbob 2017-03-01 16:56:15
Teststst: not quite what you asked for but if you cant figure out the dvd as usb thing, i use this script for offline machines. it downloads the package and all dependencies. https://paste.debian.net/917557/
icez 2017-03-01 16:56:26
mount the usb I mean
Teststst 2017-03-01 16:58:21
icez: How do I mount the usb as a cd?
icez 2017-03-01 16:58:55
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt
icez 2017-03-01 16:59:15
then apt-cdrom add -d /mnt, assuming /dev/sdb1 is your usb drive
sonnie 2017-03-01 17:00:25
hi guys. My alsamixer shows Master only, therefore when I play any audio/video, there is no sound out from my headphone plugged into front
poor-admin 2017-03-01 17:01:40
you got hit liek spacebar over most of thsoe columns
poor-admin 2017-03-01 17:01:46

poor-admin 2017-03-01 17:02:07
f5 or something shows them all
poor-admin 2017-03-01 17:02:14
look toward the top
Teststst 2017-03-01 17:02:41
icez: mount /dev/sdb /mnt says /dev/sdb is write-protected, mounting read-only and after that it does not work with apt-cdrom add
dvs 2017-03-01 17:03:06
Teststst, /dev/sdb1 not /dev/sdb
Teststst 2017-03-01 17:03:32
sdb1 does not exist
sonnie 2017-03-01 17:03:37
poor-admin, it IS on the top. I think the default sound card config is wrong
icez 2017-03-01 17:04:18
Teststst: are you sure /dev/sdb is your usb? Seems strange it would be write-protected
trumpy_ 2017-03-01 17:05:08
love it when you kill off tmux instead of 1 window :/
Teststst 2017-03-01 17:05:42
icez: is it strange? It's created with the dvd 2 iso from debian and created the iso file with dd in terminal. maybe it's write protected because you're not supposed to mix with the files since it acts like a cd?
Teststst 2017-03-01 17:06:06
Maybe easier if I just put the iso on it instead of writing it to the usb
sonnie 2017-03-01 17:06:49
ok, after I remove pulseaudio, it is working

!PACKAGES
dpkg 2017-03-01 17:30:44
Debian .deb packages are a special form of archive which can be unpacked with "ar x pkg.deb". Inside the file control.tar.gz are conffiles, installation scripts, and a file "control" which contains the information shown with "apt-cache show pkg". Dependencies can be changed by editing this file. Install the dpkg-dev package and read "man 5 deb" for more details. A better plan is to see .
trumpy_ 2017-03-01 17:32:37

veek 2017-03-01 17:33:41
